TINTYPES

A wetplate photograph is a very unique fine art piece that is handmade from start to finish. I expose the image directly on a metal plate, called a tintype, which is poured with a light sensitive chemistry and further developed in the darkroom after exposure. It is a 150-year-old photographic process that is only mastered by a few photographers in Denmark. The whole process is done by hand with chemistry, an old large format camera and lenses that are more than 100 years old. In other words, a truly unique and imperfect piece of photographic craftsmanship you're guaranteed not to see on your neighbor's walls.

"As machines become more and more efficient and perfect, so it will become clear that imperfection is the greatness of man."
